Introduction
Now that you are familiar with your camera it’s time to learn how to properly handle it. If you treat your camera right it will last you for years and become outdated long before it ever stops working correctly. In this video I’m going to cover working with your monitor, matte box, and media.
Monitor
When it comes to proper monitor etiquette it is crucial to first pay attention to the direction that all monitors on-set are facing. They should NEVER face the talent.
If a monitor is viewable by the talent, it can quickly become a distraction and throw them off, which is not what you want to have happen in the middle of a scene. So make sure all monitors are out of the eyeline of the actors.
