Enrollment Now Open!

Ryan & Tim are now accepting applications for a unique one-on-one mentorship opportunity. In this three month program Ryan & Tim will work directly with the applicant to help hone and advance his/her filmmaking abilities in all facets of production — from pre-production to post production.

What The Mentorship Candidate Will Get Experience In:

  • Planning & preparing for a shoot
  • Working on a shoot (Hands on experience with camera & lighting gear)
  • Post Production (Editing, grading, & delivery)

Additional Perks:

  • One-on-one training
  • Feedback & input on work
  • Experience on commercial sets / productions
  • Networking with other filmmakers

Requirements:

  • 18 years old+

Must be at least 18 years of age (it’s a liability thing, so we can’t flex on this requirement)

  • 3 Month Commitment

After being accepted, the applicant will have a review after 1 month; if both parties feel it is still a good fit, then the mentorship will continue for two more months.

  • 10 – 15 hours a week

Able to commit to 10 – 15 hours every week. The hours are flexible and do not have to be the same set time every week. When there are shoots, the time involved may increase.

  • Must Have Reliable Transportation

Able to get around the Portland & Beaverton area reliably and on time.

  • Punctual, Reliable, Honest, & Trustworthy

Able to show up on time, do what they say, say what they do, and follow through on commitments. The candidate will also be made privy to confidential material and therefore must be able to be trusted to keep that information private.

  • Comfortable With Technology

The ideal candidate will already be familiar with Apple/Mac computers, Final Cut Pro X, and Adobe Photoshop. At a minimum, the candidate should be comfortable working on a Mac computer and learning new software.

  • Committed To Excellence

We believe in working hard and playing hard, so we expect the mentorship candidate to also be able to dig in and do the tough work until it gets done, but to also play hard and enjoy life.

  • Self Starter

Able to take the initiative to get things done. If the candidate doesn’t know how to get the task done, they are able to figure out how to find the answer. And if they can’t find the answer, they are wise enough to ask.

  • Flexible & Fun Attitude

Change is the norm in this line of work. If adapting to new situations, and being flexible as curve balls are thrown your way is not your thing, then this will not be a good fit for you.

  • Committed to Continual Growth

We haven’t arrived yet- there is always something new for us to learn, or an area to grow in. If you have it all figured out and you know best, then this is not going to be a good fit for you, as you will be receiving constructive critiques and instruction.
